The special investigation team (SIT) probing the October 3 Lakhimpur Kheri violence during the farmers’ protest was a “pre-planned” conspiracy to kill farmers.

Union minister Ajay Mishra’s jailed son Ashish Mishra is the main accused in the case.

The SIT probing case has also filed an application before the chief judicial magistrate (CJM) to include sections against the 13 accused to make their offence punishable under attempt to murder charges.

Ashish Mishra and the other accused are already booked under murder and conspiracy charges.
