Kerala on early Saturday morning recorded its third coronavirus-related death, informed government officials.

The deceased is a 71-year-old resident of Puducherry’s Mahe. He was admitted to Pariyaram Medical College in Kerala’s Kannur.

The deceased was suffering from multiple complications.

Doctors informed that the deceased was on ventilator support for the last two weeks.

Officials informed that the patient was admitted to a local hospital on March 27 and was discharged later.

He was readmitted to the hospital after he developed pneumonia and infected his both kidneys.

“Even though he did not have any travel history, but he had participated in several community functions and programmes before he fell ill,” doctors added.

It is worth mentioning here that India’s first positive COVID-19 case was reported from Kerala.

The state has reported the least number of deaths and has a good recovery rate.
