India recorded 299 more Covid19 deaths in the last 24 hours while the country’s recovery rate crossed 96%, which is one of the highest in the world, the Union health ministry said on Thursday.
“National recovery rate has crossed 96% (96.04%) today, one of the highest globally. The exponential rise in the recoveries has led to the improvement in the recovery rate,” the Union health ministry said in a statement on Thursday.

The total recovered cases have crossed 98.6 lakhs (98,60,280), the highest globally, it claimed.
The gap between active cases and recovered cases is continuously increasing and stands at 96,02,624.
In another significant achievement, the Covid19 active cases have drastically declined to 2.57 lakh, it said.

The total active positive cases of the country stand at 2,57,656, which is 2.51% of the total cases registered in India so far.
With a high number of Covid19 patients recovering every day and the sustained fall in the mortality rate, India’s steady trend of registering dipping active cases continues.
India registered a total of 21,822 new confirmed cases in the last 24 hours whereas 26,139 new recoveries were registered in the same period.
It has led to a net decline of 4,616 cases from the total active caseload.
The ministry informed that 77.99% of the new recovered cases are observed to be concentrated in 10 states and Union territories.
Kerala has reported the maximum number of single-day recoveries with 5,707 newly recovered cases while 4,913 people have recovered in Maharashtra followed by 1,588 in Chhattisgarh.
Kerala has reported the highest daily new cases at 6,268, followed by Maharashtra with 3,537 new cases.
A total of 299 more people have succumbed to Covid19 infection across India in the last 24 hours.
Maharashtra has reported maximum casualties with 90 new fatalities. Kerala and West Bengal both follow with 28 daily deaths.
India has so far registered a total of 1,02,66,674 Covid19 positive cases.
