The Centre has introduced an application by the name Co-WIN (COVID Vaccine Intelligence Network).

Co-WIN will not only benefit the Government in overall coordination during the massive vaccination process, but also help the health authorities to monitor coronavirus vaccines in real-time.

Co-WIN will be used to track enlisted beneficiaries for the vaccination and coronavirus vaccines on a real-time basis.

“Only pre-registered beneficiaries will be vaccinated in accordance with the prioritization,” the union Health Ministry informed.

Beneficiaries can get themselves self-registered by visiting the Co-WIN website or app.

The Co-WIN app can be downloaded for free, which will help record vaccine date.

The application will be available on Google Play Store and Apple App Store, and may also be available for devices running on KaiOS.

“Photo-identity documents, including Voter ID, Aadhar card, driving license, passport and pension document, will be required for self-registration on the Co-WIN website,” the Health Ministry informed.

People eligible to receive vaccine shots will get SMSs in their mobile phone number that will inform them on the time and place of vaccination.

However, relaxations have been granted to healthcare and frontline workers as they do not need to register themselves for vaccination.

“Healthcare workers and frontline workers would not need to register themselves,” informed Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan.
