Guwahati: The tech behemoth Facebook experienced a significant outage on Monday, disrupting access for millions of users worldwide.
Reports flooded in from users encountering difficulties logging into their accounts and accessing their Facebook profiles, along with experiencing disruptions to other platforms under the company’s umbrella, such as Instagram and WhatsApp.
Instead of displaying a stripped-down version of the site, Facebook will promptly log users out. Upon attempting to log back in, users will encounter an error message indicating that their session has expired, and their login credentials will be invalidated.
The outage is impacting Instagram, Messenger, and Threads as well. However, there’s no immediate need to change your password; this isn’t a phishing attempt but rather a disruption in Meta services, 9to5mac reported.
Over 300,000 reports have flooded Down Detector since the initial outage, with Twitter and other platforms also inundated with similar reports.
