Is former Punjab chief minister and Congress veteran Captain Amrinder Singh joining the BJP?

Developments during the past two days, do indicate so.

Just a day after meeting union home minister Amit Shah, Amrinder Singh met national security advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval on Thursday morning.

Singh’s meetings with Doval and Shah have triggered widespread speculations of him joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

However, Amrinder Singh said that his meeting with the union home minister was about the prolonged farmers stir.

“Met Union Home Minister Amit Shahji in Delhi. Discussed the prolonged farmers’ agitation against farm laws and urged him to resolve the crisis urgently with the repeal of the laws and guarantee MSP,” Singh said after meeting Shah in New Delhi.

The Congress has reportedly been trying to reach out to Amrinder Singh, who had claimed that he was ‘humiliated’ while stepping down as the CM of Punjab.
