Delhi reported a total of 249 new Covid19 positive cases on Saturday and 1 more death.
With the new cases, the cumulative number of Covid19 infections increased to 1,443,062 and the death toll rose to 25,104 on Saturday.
On Saturday, the Covid19 positivity rate in Delhi stood at 0.43%.
According to the Union health ministry report, the national capital has recorded 79 cases of Omicron variant of Covid19 so far.
Delhi has recorded the second-highest number of Omicron cases after Maharashtra.
Maharashtra has recorded a total of 108 Omicron cases, the highest in the country, so far.
In order to prevent the spread of the virus, night curfew has been clamped in Noida and Ghaziabad with effect from December 25 between 11 pm and 5 am.

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday on his Twitter handle announced that the national capital achieved 100% first dose coverage of the Covid19 vaccine.
The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) said no event or gathering would be allowed to celebrate Christmas or New Year in the city.
DDMA said as per its order dated December 15, all social, political, sports, entertainment, cultural and religious events are prohibited and no gatherings can be held.

India’s Covid19 active caseload currently stands at 77,032, which is the lowest in 579 days, according to the Union health ministry data.
The country’s active cases account for less than 1% of total cases, currently at 0.22%, which is the lowest since March 2020.
The country’s recovery rate currently stands at 98.40%, which is the highest since March 2020.
