In view of the spike in Covid19 positive cases, Rajasthan has announced daily 12-hour night curfew from 6 pm-5 am with effect from Friday (April 16).

The curfew, to be imposed in all cities, will be in effect till the end of April.

The Rajasthan government has announced a series of measures to prevent the spread of Covid19.

The other measures taken by the Rajasthan government include closing of markets by 5 pm daily and complete closure of all educational and coaching institutions, says a media report.

However, the factories and bus stands will be exempted.

As per the order, public functions and sporting events will not be allowed to function.

Weddings can have a maximum of 50 guests instead of the earlier 100-guest cap.

According to reports, on Wednesday Rajasthan registered a total of 6,200 new Covid19 cases, including 1,325 in Jaipur.

The Covdi19 positivity rate has increased from last month’s 2% to nearly 8% now.

On Monday, the state registered a total of 5,771 new Covid19 cases.

On Sunday, 5,105 cases were detected and on Saturday, the number of Covid19 positive cases stood at 4,401.

The active caseload has crossed the 40,000-mark.

So far, Rajasthan has recorded nearly 3,000 Covid19 deaths so far.
