“It is very important to continue COVID appropriate behaviour. It will help us break the chain of transmission. It will help us increase protection against COVID-19,” Dr Randeep Guleria further said.

The AIIMS Director further urged the people to keep wearing masks even after getting vaccination.

“Even after getting the COVID vaccine, you must wear mask because there might be near and dear ones who have not yet been vaccinated,” said Dr Guleria.

“Many people ask: What’s the use of getting a COVID vaccine because we know someone who had taken the vaccine but still got COVID-19? I want to reiterate that you can still get the virus but it will lessen the severity of the virus,” added Dr Randeep Guleria.

“Unnecessary rushing to the hospital will only lead to chaos. Don’t rush to the hospital just because you have been tested #COVID19. There is no such thing as preventive hospitalisation,” said the AIIMS Director.

“Most will have symptoms like common cold, sore throat, etc. Over 5-7 days, they’ll recover with symptomatic treatment”.
