Union sports minister Kiren Rijiju on Tuesday reviewed Sports Authority of India (SAI)’s initiatives to keep the athletes engaged during the 21-day lockdown period.

He held a meeting with regional directors of all SAI centres across the country through a video conference.

The minister took stock of the situation and deliberated upon measures to be taken once the lockdown is lifted.

Most of the SAI centre are vacant, barring SAI South Centre, Bengaluru and the National Institute of Sports (NIS), Patiala.

The sports minister also reviewed the measures taken by the various SAI centres to keep the athletes motivated and engaged.

Rijiju, later, ook to his twitter handle to highlight the topics discussed in the meeting.
