Union health minister Harsh Vardhan on Thursday said that it will take around 1.5 to 2 years to develop coronavirus vaccines.

Addressing the coronavirus outbreak situation in India Harsh Vardhan said, “We have managed to isolate the coronavirus and we have 11 such isolates.”

The health minister further requested the people to not panic.

“Maintain effective social distance as a protective measure against coronavirus,” the health minister urged the people.

In India, so far 73 positive coronavirus cases have been reported.

“Of the 73 positive coronavirus cases reported in India, 56 are Indians and 17 are foreigners,” the minister further added.

He also informed that the Indian government so far has evacuated 900 Indian citizens including 48 belonging to other nations like Maldives, Myanmar, Bangladesh, China, US, Madagascar, Sri Lanka, Nepal, South Africa, and Peru.

Harsh Vardhan also informed that over the next three days three planes will be sent to Iran to bring back Indians stranded in the country.
