The Bharatiya Janata Party has announced that it will go for an alliance with the Apna Dal and Nishad Party in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly poll.
The parties also stated that the seat-sharing ratio was also completed but it was not revealed to the media.

Reports state that the alliance announcement was a message to the backward classes in UP.
Recently, several members of the BJP had shifted to the Samajwadi Party and most of these members were from the backward classes of the state.

Both Apna Dal and Nishad Party are based on the support of the backward castes.
It may be mentioned that on Wednesday, the daughter-in-law of former UP CM Mulayam Singh Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav’s sister-in-law Aparna Yadav joined the BJP.
She was married to Akhilesh Yadav’s brother Pratik Yadav and her decision to join the BJP is seen as a major blow to the Samajwadi Party.

Pratik Yadav is the younger son of Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Aparna Yadav while joining the BJP said that she was always inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
