At least 42 staff of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters in Delhi were found to be COVID-19 positive.

On Monday, there was mass testing of BJP members and staff ahead of the party’s core group meeting, after which the 42 staff were tested positive.

As per reports, most of the infected persons were sanitation workers and all of them have been sent for self-isolation.

Following this, the entire headquarter building was sanitized.

Further, the people who are engaged in “important” activities are coming to the office.

It may be mentioned that over the past few days top BJP leaders including the party’s chief JP Nadda have been found to be COVID-19 positive.

Several top-ranking politicians including minister Pijush Hazarika was too tested positive.

Apart from this, many top police officials were also reported to be positive for the virus.
