Two CRPF jawans were injured in a grenade blast in Imphal on Friday evening.

The blast took place around 5.15 pm outside the Manipur Assembly complex in Thangmeiband area of the city.

Police said suspected militants lobbed a grenade outside the Assembly complex resulting in the injury of the two CRPF jawans.

Two CRPF jawans who were on duty at the complex were injured as they were hit by the splinters of the grenade, said a police official.

The injured CRPF jawans, belonging to the 87th battalion of the force, have been admitted to a hospital.

Security forces have launched operations in Imphal to nab the militants.
