The Mizoram State Sports Council(MSSC) approved the decision to increase the district sports committee budget by 50 percent.
It was also decided to increase the budget of the state-level sports association by 20 percent.
The decisions were taken at the general body meeting held to discuss the 2019-2020 Mizoram state sports council budget.
The meeting which was held under the leadership of Mizoram sports minister Pu Robert Romawia Royte.
Other budget allocations include Rs 9500000 for the establishment, Rs500000 for reserved funds, and Rs115,10,000 for other promotional funds.
For sports medicine Rs 500000 and sports infrastructure, Rs 5000000 were allocated.
The MSSC has also increased kit allowances for those representing India at international events to Rs.20,000 from Rs 10,000.
MSSC has 31 sports association under it and promotional budget will be distributed equally among the associations.
The Cricket Association of Mizoram (CAM) was previously under MSSC, which now is under the jurisdiction of the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India).
CAM will no longer have access to MSSC funds.
