Star India batsman and captain of Mumbai Indians (MI) Rohit Sharma donated Rs 80 lakh to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

The team India Vice-Captain of the ODI team said, โ€œThe onus is on the citizens to help the country get back on its feet.โ€

Of the Rs 80 lakh, Sharma donated Rs 45 lakh to PM CARES Fund and Rs 25 lakh to Maharashtra CM Relief Fund.

Sharma has also donated Rs 5 lakh to Zomato Feeding India, which is helping families affected by the ongoing national lockdown.

He had also donated another Rs 5 lakh to help aid the welfare of stray dogs.
