Guwahati: The inaugural edition of the Assam Premier League (APL) will begin on August 1, with eight teams competing in a 43-match tournament spread over 23 days.
According to the official schedule, the league will comprise 40 league-stage matches, two semi-finals and the final, which is scheduled for August 23 at 7 p.m.
The tournament will open with a double-header on August 1. Charaideo Sunrisers will face Barpeta Braves at 2 p.m., followed by Tezpur Titans taking on Dibrugarh Warriors at 7 p.m.
Action will continue on August 2, with Barak Legends meeting Nagaon Rangers in the afternoon before Guwahati Royals begin their campaign against Jorhat Stallions in the evening.
The league features eight franchises representing different regions of the State โ Charaideo Sunrisers, Barpeta Braves, Tezpur Titans, Dibrugarh Warriors, Barak Legends, Nagaon Rangers, Guwahati Royals and Jorhat Stallions.
Each team will play every other side once during the league stage, along with three reverse fixtures. The top four teams in the standings will qualify for the semi-finals, scheduled for August 21.
The inaugural edition will conclude with the final on August 23, when the league’s first champions will be crowned.
