Speaking at Aizawl South I constituency block conference at Bethlehem veng in Aizawl, the former Chief Minister of Mizoram and the founder member of Northeast Democratic Alliance (NEDA), Zoramthanga alleged the Congress government of creating a tradition of halting projects of the predecessor governments.

“They do not care whether the project is good or bad, they just stopped it,” Zoramthanga alleged.

The MNF supremo said that forming a new MNF government wasn’t a question anymore, adding that the main deliberations amongst his party men were how to enforce and put into place their new economic policy.

“We will form a new government, it is evident. From the day we form a government, the MNF party will start implementing our new Special Economic Development Package,” Zoramthanga said.

The MNF party president who has lost his MLA seat is already poised to contest the coming election from Aizawl East I constituency. He will lock horns against Zoram Peoples’ Movement spokesperson and a journalist turned politician K Sapdanga and Congress candidate K Vanlalrawna.

In the 2008 election Zoramthanga contested from Champhai North and South constituencies where he lost both the seats. In 2013 he again lost at East Tuipui to Congress candidate T Sangkunga.
