“We will not rollback the Citizenship (Amendment) Act and we are committed to give citizenship and a dignified life to refugees persecuted for the last 70 years,” said home minister Amit Shah on Tuesday.
Firing salvo at the opposition the BJP president said, “Rumours and misinformation are being spread by the opposition parties and they are to be blamed for the present situation of the country.”

“They can oppose the Act as much they can but the NDA government under Narendra Modi is committed in giving citizenship to every refugee persecuted on religious grounds,” Shah reiterated.
“Giving citizenship to refugees will not take away the citizenship of the genuine Indians. They should not worry. The opposition is spreading rumours,” the home minister added.
“The opposition is misleading the students by spreading rumours against CAA and they are inciting violence for their own political gain,” the home minister added.

“We are not going to rollback the Citizenship Act at any cost. We are determined on this,” Shah reiterated.
“I would request he Congress leaders to read the first clause of the Nehru-Liaqat pact. There it is clearly mentioned that both countries would give same rights to minorities in each other’s country,” Shah said.
“But Pakistan has failed to give equal rights to the minorities. On the other hand, the minorities in Pakistan are persecuted and they are forced to convert their religion,” Shah further said.
“No minority is safe there. Women, children, old or young- not a single minority is safe in Pakistan,” Shah reiterated.
