A 21-year-old youth in Maharashtra’s Thane district allegedly murdered the son of a married woman he was in a relationship with.
The accused, identified as Jitendra Maddheshiya, kidnapped his girlfriend’s eight-year-old son and killed him.
Jitendra committed the murder after the boy apprised his father of his mother’s illicit affair with the accused.
Maddheshiya used to work as a cook at the eight-year-old boy’s house under Bhoiwada police station in Bhiwandi taluka of the district.
Police have arrested the accused Jitendra, who was in a relationship with the child’s mother.
On Thursday, the boy went missing from his house, following which a case of kidnapping was registered.
On Friday, the police found the missing child’s body inside a closed apartment on the fourth floor of the building, where he lived with his family.
The police filed a case of murder late on Friday night. During the probe, it came to light that the victim’s father had sacked their cook from his job recently.
Suspecting a link to the crime, the investigators interrogated Maddheshiya, and he confessed to having murdered the child, Times of India reported.
“The accused said that he was unhappy with the child who had exposed his relationship with his mother to his father, who had laid him off from work after learning about the same,” TOI quoted police as saying
