Two ULFA (I) cadres along with arms and ammunition were nabbed in a joint operation launched by Assam Rifles and CRPF at Nampong area in Arunachal Pradesh on Sunday.
They were identified as Corporal Mintu Tanti, 30, and Kaku Bora alias Raju Asom, 28.

Security officials said intensive search operation was carried out by troops of the Assam Rifle and CRPF along with Arunachal Pradesh police in Nampong area.
During the operation, two suspected rebels were seen coming from Lungka village towards NH-315 junction approximately four km away from highway junction.
On being challenged, the cadres attempted to flee dashing towards the thick jungle near the road side.

Two 9 MM pistols, seven rounds of live ammunition, two magazines and some incriminating documents were recovered from their possession.
A case has been registered in Nampong police station (case no12/19) under section120B/121A/511IPC r/w section 10/B UA (P) ACT/SEC 25(1-A)/25(1-B) (a) Arms Act against them.
“We have been carrying out a joint routine patrolling and two suspected people were noticed coming from Lungka village of Nampong.
“On being asked they started to run away and immediately our joint team of 13 Assam Rifle and D/171 came into action and nabbed them successfully and recovered arms and ammunition from their possession,” said a police official.
Sources said recently many ULFA (I) cadres were surrendered before police because the security forces launched massive operation against the rebel group.
