Two persons were killed and six others sustained serious injuries in a tragic road accident near Daboka Girls College at Daboka of Hojai district in Assam along National Highway 54.
The accident took place at around 8 pm on Saturday, when a speeding tanker collided with an auto rickshaw bearing registration number AS 02 BC 3928 coming from the opposite direction.
As per information, there were eight passengers including the driver in the vehicle. These passengers included three women and five men.
After the accident, the police with the help of the locals immediately admitted the injured passengers to a government hospital in Daboka, where the conditions of all the injured passengers are stated to be critical.
The two deceased passengers have been identified as Hussain Ahmed and Makadash Ali.
Reportedly, Hussain Ahmed along with his wife is a resident of Cachar. He actually came for family tree verification at Daboka.
The tanker had meanwhile fled from the spot after the accident towards Lanka.
Meanwhile, Daboka Police started the investigation and have launched an intensive search operation to nab the culprits.
Meanwhile, a pall of gloom has descended in entire Daboka town after this tragic incident.
