The victim, a young homemaker from Ghorakappa village of Shilachhari was on her way to a local hospital on Saturday for treatment, when she met Bhowmik and Bishnu Das, a local youth.

They offered to take the victim to the hospital, to which she agreed and mounted on Bhowmik’s two-wheeler.

However, instead of going to the hospital, the duo drove towards a nearby forest, where they raped the woman.

They also threatened her with dire consequences if she revealed about the incident before anyone.

Then the duo along with the victim left for Sabroom on their two-wheelers.

They however met with an accident on their way to Sabroom.

When the people of the area rushed to the spot of the accident, the victim narrated her ordeal before them.

The people of the area handed the two men over to the Shilachhari police.

A case has been registered under sections 376 and 409 under the Indian Penal Code.
