Youth Tipra Federation protest
Hundreds of YTF activists took to the streets opposing the statement, raised patriotic slogans, and warned Bangladesh against casting an โ€œevil eyeโ€ on northeastern India.

Agartala: The youth wing of the Tipra Motha Party, the Youth Tipra Federation (YTF), on Friday staged a protest in front of the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission office in Agartala against the anti-India statement made by NCP leader Hasnat Abdullah.

During a recent public meeting, Abdullah reportedly claimed that northeastern India would be inducted into Bangladeshi territory.

Hundreds of YTF activists took to the streets opposing the statement, raised patriotic slogans, and warned Bangladesh against casting an โ€œevil eyeโ€ on northeastern India.

The protesters also reminded the Bangladesh government of the crucial role played by the Indian Army in the creation of Bangladesh as a sovereign nation.

โ€œThe citizens of Bangladesh must not forget how our country stood rock solid with them during their time of crisis. Bangladesh came into existence due to the invaluable contributions of India. Today, however, some leaders in Bangladesh have cast their evil eyes on northeastern India. This suggests that Bangladeshi political leaders have no real issues left to contest elections and are therefore resorting to anti-India rhetoric,โ€ said Suraj Debbarma, president of the YTF.

Debbarma further claimed that just as Bangladesh seeks to include northeastern India in its territory, people in the region are also keen on having access to a beach.

โ€œIf Bangladesh threatens to disintegrate northeastern India, we are also willing to have the Chittagong Hill Tracts inducted into India. Many people sharing the same ethnic and cultural identities live in the CHT. Bangladesh should not forget that,โ€ he added.
