Chairman of the ruling TIPRA (The Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance) in the TTAADC has stated that his part would not tolerate any attempts by “some elements in the Government” to undermine the power and autonomy of the TTAADC.
Pradyot Debbarma said, “It is unfortunate that some elements in the govt want to dilute the powers and autonomy of the TTAADC (Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council). We will not allow these people to undermine the 6th schedule. I believe in dignified approach, co-operation and positive politics but some people take this attitude as weakness.”
He said this after holding a meeting with his party leaders at Ambassa.
