Agartala: A team of Assam Rifles in Tripura seized Yaba tablets worth Rs 18 Crores and arrested two persons from Narangbari under West District.

A press statement from Assam Rifles said that in an operation on the eve of Diwali, a team recovered 90,000 Yaba tablets from the general area of Narangbari.

“The latest drug bust also resulted in the apprehension of two individuals and the seizure of one vehicle”, the statement said.

It added, “The apprehended individuals along with seized drugs  have been handed over to the DRI, Agartala for further proceedings.”

It said that acting on specific intelligence, Assam Rifles conducted the operation which led to the recovery of the huge amount of Yaba tablets.

While the price varies in markets, the drugs seized are estimated to be priced at a whopping Rs 18 crores in the international market.
