TIPRA (The Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance) will contest the upcoming elections to the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) alone.

This was informed by Chairman of TIPRA – Pradyot Deb Barman.

“The alliance between TIPRA and IPFT (Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura) is over,” said Pradyot Deb Barman on Monday.

Meanwhile, General Secretary of TIPRA – Animesh Debbarma said that there will be no seat sharing with IPFT for upcoming Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections.

Animesh Debbarma further informed that the TIPRA is preparing its own list of candidates.

Debbarma further said that many IPFT leaders and workers are quitting the IPFT and joining the TIPRA.

Chairman of TIPRA Pradyot Deb Barman said: “Those who are loyal to the ‘Greater Tipraland’ cause will be selected as TIPRA candidates.”

“Beside this educational qualification and many other things would also be considered for candidature,” added Pradyot Deb Barman.

Recently, the IPFT had snapped its ties with the IPFT that it had entered into for the upcoming TTAADC elections.
