In a major breakthrough, police have arrested one Pranjit Das (36) in allegation of bearing arms. Acting on a tip off, the police conducted raid at Sonargoan guest house and nabbed one with 3 factory made pistol, 25 round live cartage and 6 magazines.

The accused is identified as Pranjit Das (36) son of Binode Bihari Das, resident of Kamalasagar Devipur area under Madhupur police station in Sipahijala District in Tripura.

Reportedly, during interrogation Pranjit confessed that he went to receive the gun which was pre ordered by his relative who is at present in Sabroom jail.  I/O of the case, Ratan Rabi Das beliefs that Pranjit is definitely involved in a big racket and have lodged a case under the Arms act.

Police further demanded police remand and have produced him before the court.
