One Amal Gope, a resident of Fulchari village in Kamalpur sub-division in Dhalai district in Tripura, has written to Chief Minister Biplab Deb seeking his permission for euthanasia.
In his letter, Gope said that he has been continuously harassed by state food, civil supplies and consumer affairs minister Manoj Kanti Deb.

Gope, in his letter to the CM, has alleged that he and his family were attacked by miscreants send by the minister and they even disconnected their water supply connection and even stopped his business.
“I had informed everything to MPs Pratima Bhoumik and Rebati Tripura along with the CM. The harassments began immediately after that,” Gope said while speaking to the media on Tuesday.
“I have written to the CM either he should initiate action against the minister or he should accept my request for euthanasia,” Gope further said.

“The minister is engaged in several illegal activities and since I have opposed him openly, he has attacked me, my family,” Gope further alleged.
Speaking to Northeast Now, Manoj Kanti Deb, however, refuted every allegation and called them to be baseless.
“The Kamalpur people know about me and my character. Gope used to stay in my quarters when he came to Agartala from Kamalpur,” the minister said.
“I even purchased clothes for his son last time in Durga Puja,” he added.
“He had applied for a loan, which was rejected. Whatever he has been saying is all because of the rejected loan,” Deb added.
