“Most important for all is to see that all regional parties come under a single platform for the demand of Greater Tipraland,” TIPRA further added in its statement.
Meanwhile, Chairman of TIPRA Pradyot Kishore Deb Barman said that “Greater Tipraland” should include areas even outside the TTAADC, where the people of the Tripuri community resides.
“We demand that every indigenous area or village which is outside the TTADC be included in Greater Tipraland,” Chairman of TIPRA – Pradyot Deb Barman asserted.

“If NSCN can fight for Greater Nagaland, then what’s wrong in demanding Greater Tipraland,” said Pradyot Deb Barman.
The Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance (TIPRA) is a social-cultural organization formed by Pradyot Kishore Deb Barman after quitting Congress about one and half years back.
It will be for the first time that TIPRA will contest an election.
Notably, the High Court of Tripura had ordered the State Government to conduct elections for the TTAADC by May 17.
TIPRA further raised the issue of Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), saying that it was imposed on the people of Tripura forcefully.
“When States like Manipur, Arunachal, Mizoram, Nagaland which has never accepted even one displaced and persecuted minority as an equal citizen of the State, Tripura opened up its gate on grounds of humanity. The CAA exempted these States but imposed this act on us, this was a clear case of vote bank politics,” TIPRA said in its statement.
“Our sentiments are hurt and we hope and urge that the Supreme Court will give us justice in this matter,” TIPRA further added.

TIPRA further expressed disappointment over the delay in the process of rehabilitating displaced Brus in the State.
“We are extremely unhappy that like many previous Governments like the IOA, TNV, ATTF even the 4-way Bru accord has not been honoured yet by the State because of pressures from elements who continue to be office bearers in National parties namely the BJP, Congress and the CPI-M,” the TIPRA further said.
