The Tripura Government has decided to transfer Rs 2000 in four instalments directly to the bank accounts of pregnant women in the State under “Mukhyamantri Matripushti Uphar” scheme. 

The Tripura cabinet has decided to provide Rs 2000 to pregnant women in the State, who visit various hospitals during pregnancy, to purchase nutritional food items.

An amount of Rs 8 crore has been earmarked under the scheme, informed cabinet spokesperson and Tripura education minister Ratan Lal Nath. 

Nath said, “Approximately 32,000 pregnant women in the State will be benefited by the scheme.”

Meanwhile, the Special Nutritional Kit for pregnant mothers would consists of 250 gms of groundnut, 300 gms of roasted Bengal gram, 180 gms of soyabean, 500 gms of mixed dal, 500 gms of jaggery, 200 ml of ghee, 200 gms of cashew nut and 100 gms of raisins.
