The Tripura government is planning to introduce a one-year diploma course in Spanish at MBB University from the next academic session.

This was informed by the state education minister Ratan Lal Nath on Friday.

“Proposal has been come to open a one-year diploma course in the Chinese language at Maharaja Bir Bikram University,” Nath said.

“However, the state government has decided o start the course in the Spanish language instead of Chinese,” Nath further informed.

“The Tripura University vice-chancellor along with his MBB University counterpart, after carrying out a detailed study has come to the conclusion that Spanish would be a better option than Chinese,” Nath further added.

“Apart from Chinese, we have also decided to introduce three other one-year diploma courses on GST, Retail and Sales Management and Insurance Risk Management from the next academic session,” the minister further said.

“Moreover, the government is thinking to introduce job oriented courses as well at MBB University from the next academic session,” he further informed.

“One integrated master degree course in Chemistry and Commerce will also be introduced at MBB University,” Nath informed.
