The Tripura government will now encourage new start-ups coming up in the state associated with the information technology industry.

Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb on his social media platform wrote “The launch of the ‘New Generation Innovation Network’ project for the new generation has been approved by the council of ministers in Tripura”.

“Through this project, initiatives will be taken to create a conductive environment for the development of innovative talent of students in educational institutions in Tripura.  Students will identify local problems and will be encouraged to come up with technical solutions in order to solve them”, said Deb.

The project will initially be implemented in all technical institutions across Tripura.  Later it will be implemented in polytechnic institutes and government colleges as well.

The department of information technology will provide a one-time payment of Rs 10 lakh for the construction of infrastructure for educational institutions, which will implement this scheme.

He wrote “This project will become a new milestone in the development of information technology. Tripura government is on track to build a self-reliant state. This project will further accelerate the pace of achieving that dream”.

The state has all the logistics for the development of information technology.  Many Tripuri youths are working competently in the field of information technology  in other states
