The Tripura Government has regularised jobs of as many as 932 science teachers in the State.
Tripura cabinet, on Tuesday, approved regularisation of jobs of 928 science graduate teachers and also settle all arrears from 2017 onwards.
Speaking to reporters in Agartala, Tripura Minister Ratan Lal Nath said: “The council of ministers approved regularization of 938 science graduate teachers. They will receive all arrears from 2017 onwards.”
He said that these science teachers could not be regularised earlier due to legal complications.
“The previous Left Front government did not recruit teachers on permanent basis. So, there was a complication in regularizing the jobs of these science teachers,” Nath said.
Tripura High Court Chief Justice A Qureshi, ruled on December 18, that jobs of science teachers must be regularised within six months.
“928 teachers’ jobs have been regularised as they hold D.EL.Ed and B.Ed degrees. Jobs of another 12 science teachers are yet to be regularised as they dont have these degrees. If they submit their degree, they will also be regularized and all arrears will be settled by the Tripura government,” Nath added.
An amount of Rs 49.59 crore will be spent from the state treasury to settle arrears of the 938 science teachers.
