The opposition parties in Tripura have slammed the Biplap Deb-led BJP government in Tripura over a tweet by the state government’s official handle.

The official Twitter handle of the Tripura government uploaded a poster with a photo of a flyover in Kolkata.

The opposition parties in Tripura – the CPI-M and the TMC – have criticised the state government saying that the Biplab Deb government is “renting” development works of other states to showcase as “his government’s success”.

Meanwhile, the poster, tweeted by the MyGov Tripura handle, has been deleted.

“It is a shameful act by the BJP-led Tripura government to showcase a Kolkata flyover as Biplab Deb government’s success. It is like a rented campaign by the BJP,” TMC leader Subal Bhowmik said.

Meanwhile, the Tripura BJP while defending its poster has hit back at the opposition saying that the opposition parties “cultivate negativity”.

“The tweet was in regards to a national-level competition. BJP thinks the nation comprises all the states,” BJP leader Subrata Chakraborty said.

Notably, in September, the Maa Flyover in Kolkata found a place in a Uttar Pradesh government advertisement, showcasing the development works of the Yogi Adityanath administration.

Last month, the Durgapur airport in West Bengal’s Paschim Bardhaman district was tweeted by the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation as located in Uttarakhand.
