G Kameswar Rao took charge as the administrator of Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) on Monday.

He was appointed as TTAADC administrator on Sunday night by Tripura Governor Ramesh Bais.

TTAADC’s five-year tenure ended on Sunday, but as the election could not be held due to COVID-19 lockdown, therefore, as decided by the state cabinet the administrative powers of TTAADC shifted to the Governor.

The Governor appointed the former chief secretary Rao as the Chief Administrator of TTAADC.

Rao was a member of the Police Accountability Commission and he resigned from the post to take charge as TTAADC administrator.
