AGARTALA: The Tripura government has announced its plans to fill 469 vacant posts spanning various departments in the state.

According to Tripura tourism minister and cabinet spokesperson Sushanta Chowdhury, decisions were finalized during recent cabinet meetings.

Chowdhury disclosed that approvals were granted by the Tripura cabinet for the appointment of personnel across different departments.

Notably, the Tripura health and family welfare department will witness significant additions with the recruitment of 226 general duty medical officers (Grade-4), 16 super specialty medical officers (Grade-3), and 172 specialist medical officers (Grade-4).

Additionally, the Tripura fire and emergency services department will hire 49 sub-officers (Group-C).

These recruitments will be facilitated through the Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC), Chowdhury informed the media.

Furthermore, the Tripura food, civil supplies and consumer affairs department is set to appoint six food sub-inspectors (Group-C) through the Joint Recruitment Board of Tripura (JRBT).

The Tripura cabinet has also sanctioned the re-employment of 67 retired police officers.

This decision aims to support the operational needs for the establishment of immigration facilities at strategic locations such as Nischintapur Railway Station, Sabroom ICP, and Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) airport in Agartala.
