The Communist Party of India- Marxist (CPI (M)) have so far distributed relief materials to over 73000 families during the lockdown in Tripura.

This was said by Tripura CPI (M) secretary Gautam Das, further alleging that they were attacked in several places while they went to distribute the relief materials.

โ€œIn an all-party on April 29, along with CPI (M) members other opposition parties including Congress also alleged that they were attacked by members from the ruling party,โ€ Das said.

โ€œAfter that Chief Minister Biplab Deb had assured us to look into the matter and take necessary action,โ€ Das further said.

โ€œHowever, nothing has been done in this matter so far and CMโ€™s assurances changed nothing. CPI (M) cadres were attacked in 13 places after the April 29 meeting,โ€ Das further alleged.

โ€œSeven of our members received serious injury and they had to be admitted to the hospital as well,โ€ he further said.

โ€œWe have now written to the Director-General of Police (DGP) informing about the attacks,โ€ Das added.
