The CM asked the secretary and the director of the social welfare department why they don’t inspect the condition of the old age home regularly and take corrective steps.
The officers tried to justify their inaction but the CM told them to be more careful of their duties as well as to ensure proper development and maintenance of the home, meant for the hapless old people.
After inspecting the old age home, CM wrote on his facebook post: “Their unconditional love gives me energy to work harder for the welfare of our State.”
“I wish everyone a prosperous 2020 ! Started my New Year 2020 with a visit to an old age home in Agartala. Elated to spend some good times with them and will cherish the memories for long,” he added.
Chief minister Deb also distributed clothes to the inmates of the old age home.
Deb informed that there are 37 female and 12 male inmates living in the old age home.
He said the authority concerned should take more care to them.
