AGARTALA: Tripura chief minister Dr Manik Saha expressed confidence on Saturday (March 23) that BJP candidates in the state are on track for a significant victory.
Tripura CM Manik Saha highlighted the opposition’s “lack of substantial issues” to contest in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
In a sharp critique, Dr Saha criticized opposition parties for their involvement in what he characterized as the misleading strategies of the INDIA bloc.
Leading a prominent padayatra campaign, Tripura chief minister Manik Saha drummed up support for former CM Biplap Kumar Deb, who is contesting for the West Tripura parliamentary constituency, and Dipak Majumdar, the candidate for the Ramnagar assembly constituency by-election.
“Encouraged by the steadfast trust of the people in the BJP and the enthusiastic response garnered during the padayatra, I am confident that BJP candidates for both the Lok Sabha and by-elections will secure victory by a significant margin,” said Tripura CM Dr Manik Saha.

He said: “Our collective efforts, from BJP karyakartas to leaders, in reaching out to the people have been met with overwhelming support. We appeal for endorsement based on our track record of accomplishments.”
He further criticized certain political factions for “opportunistic emergence” during elections without substantive groundwork for the welfare of the people.
“Given the absence of substantial issues for the opposition to contest, I am optimistic about our prospects in the upcoming Lok Sabha election and by-election,” the Tripura chief minister added.
