Tripura book fair from Feb 25 next year

The 38th Agartala Book Fair will be held from February 25 to March 7 next year.

The 12-day fair will have as many as 152 stalls.

Altogether 12 awards will be given during the book fair.

Tripura chief minister Biplab Deb on Monday held a preparatory meeting at the conference hall of Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan in Agartala.

Mayor Dr Prafullajit Sinha, MP Pratima Bhoumik, Agartala Press Club’s president Subal Kumar Dey, secretary Pranab Sarkar and vice chairman of higher education Dr Arunodhay Saha were present at the meeting.

Addressing the meeting, the chief minister underscored organizing the book fair at International Fair Ground, Hapania.

There will be district-wise cultural programme during the book fair.

Deb further suggested the book fair organizers to keep close eye on books which will be available at book fair venue.

He said the government has taken an initiative to set up a cultural hub by spending an amount of Rs two crore.
