The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Tripura will have its organizational election in September, October and November next.

The election schedule as part of routine organizational exercise to boost the party was announced in Agartala on Tuesday.

Booth level election would be held from September 11 to 30 while mandal level election would take place from October 11 to 31.

The district level polls are scheduled to be organized from November 11 to 30 next.

This will pave the way for formation of new state level committee.

While declaring the election schedule, Pradyot Kumar Dhar on Tuesday said the entire organization should be completed by December 15, according to reports.

The organizational election which is considered as a festival would not be on the likes of Assembly or Lok Sabha, he was quoted as saying.

He further said that it is purely an internal matter of the party and all the committees will be constituted on mutual understanding.

Dhar also said women will get proper representation in all the three level committees – booths, mandals and districts.

He says, the party believes in women empowerment and as such women will be given their due.

In the meantime, membership drive of the party concluded on Tuesday.

According to party sources, the membership drive has been a grand success as over six lakh people have enrolled into the party.

The target was five lakh.

Party sources further said that active membership drive would begin very shortly.
