Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Sushmita Dev alleged that a mob of “BJP sheltered goons”, on Sunday, attacked workers of the party at the premises of East Agartala Women’s police station.

Dev alleged that the incident took place when Tripura Trinamool youth congress president Saayani Ghosh was brought to the police station for questioning.

According to Deb, the “BJP sheltered goons” attacked the TMC workers in the police station when the interrogation of Saayani Ghosh was on.

“Our candidates were beaten up; their house vandalized and despite filing complaints, no action was taken. Police here is acting in a one-sided manner,” reports quoted Sushmita Dev as saying.

Saayani Ghosh was summoned by the Tripura police based on a complaint filed by BJP.

Top TMC leader Kunal Ghosh said, “Democracy is being trampled here. Jungle Raj is prevalent under the BJP in Tripura.”
