The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a 61-million-dollar loan for development of urban areas in the capital city of Tripura – Agartala.
This was informed by Tripura chief minister Biplab Deb on Monday.

CM Deb further said that a 1-million-dollar technical assistance (TA) grant has also been approved by the Asian Development Bank.
“ADB approves a $61 million loan and $1 million technical assistance (TA) grant for the urban development in Agartala,” the Tripura CM said.
He added: “With this financial support, Tripura will march ahead on the path of becoming a model state.”

CM Biplab Deb said that “this loan will be used to upgrade 48 kms of stormwater drainage and construct 23 kms of climate-resilient roads”.
“This will further enhance the quality of life in Tripura and make the state an economic–commercial hub of the northeast,” CM Biplab Deb said.
