A Rs 1925 crore project for power generation up-gradation has been sanctioned by ADB (Asian Development Bank) in Tripura.

ADB recently sanctioned the amount to TSECL (Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited).

This project would upgrade the capacity of the 63 MW Rokhia Project to 120 MW at an estimated cost of Rs 699.80 crore.

The project would also modernise the Gumti Hydro Electric Project for an estimated cost of Rs 1225.88 crore.

A sanction of Rs 12.7 crore was also sanctioned by the NEC (North East Council) for revamping the 49.15 km-long Ambassa-Gandacherra power transmission line.
