Three rebels belonging to the National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) have been arrested by the police.

The NLFT cadres were arrested from Takarjala under Sepahijala district in Tripura Sunday night.

The three NLFT cadres were arrested by the police while moving out of Takarjala in a vehicle bearing registration number TR01BL0228.

The arrested NLFT cadres have been identified as: Rano Debbarma from Khowai district, Rathindra Debbarma from North Tripura district and Prasenjit Debbarma from Khowai district.

“We received an information about three NLFT cadres camping in Takarjala. On Sunday evening the cadres were about to leave Takarjala. Accordingly, police launched a search operation in Takarjala. Every road connecting Takarjala were barricaded and nabbed the rebels,” police informed.

The three arrested NLFT rebels have been taken to the Bishalgarh Police Station.

The arrested NLFT rebels would be produced at the local Court in Bishalgarh on Monday.

Notably, several rebel leaders have been arrested in Tripura in recent times.

Earlier on January 12 also, Police had arrested two NLFT rebels from Takarjala in Sepahijala district, Tripura.
