Ten police personnel were infected with COVID-19 in Tripura on Monday.

On Sunday night, 105 people were tested positive.

Among them, 10 are police personnel from two separate police stations.

These two police stations are Bishramganj and Melaghar, both in Sepahijala district.

Chandra Kumar Jamatia, the District Magistrate of Sepahijala district told that nine policemen from Bishramganj and one sub-inspector from Melaghar police station were found positive.

On Monday, 25 police personnel of these two police stations were sent to home quarantine.

Sanitization has been done in both the police stations.

Sources from Bisramganj said a few days back, an assistant sub-inspector had been traced as coronavirus positive and his entire family along with him had to be sent to quarantine.

But now, the virus has spread further with nine personnel being diagnosed as positive and have been sent to quarantine.

Sandip Mahatme, the district magistrate of West Tripura district said the district administration has constituted ten teams.

These teams will visit the markets and if found that the social distancing is not maintained in the market then the markets will be closed.

On the other hand, one more hospital is also closed in Tripura due to coronavirus spread.

Amarpur Hospital has closed all its facilities.

The hospital is in Gomoti district.

The Melaghar hospital and Khowai district hospital is also partly closed.
