Lashing out the Biplab Deb-led BJP government in Tripura, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) or CPI (M) alleged that cases of COVID-19 increased in the state and virus spread uncontrollably solely due to the government’s negligence.
Tripura CPI (M) secretary Gautam Das said, “Earlier when people from outside the state entered Tripura the government decided to conduct COVID-19 on only one person test among five.”
“They did it according to their plan and only one person was tested in every five people. Now the number of corona positive cases has alarmingly increased in the state,” Das said.
“At that time CPI (M) repeatedly urged the government to test everyone who came from outside. But the government ignored our pleas,” he added.
“The government is now going to conduct a house-to-house survey, which they could have done earlier as well,” Das further said.
