Six Bangladeshi women held in Tripura

Agartala: Six Bangladeshi nationals have been detained by Tripura Police at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport in Agartala.

According to Abhijit Mandal, Officer-in-Charge of the Airport Police Station, the police received a tip-off about some women acting suspiciously around the airport premises.

Upon investigation, the police found that the six women had entered Tripura without passports and identified themselves as Bangladeshi nationals.

The police detained them and took them to the police station for further questioning.

The women were reportedly planning to leave the state for another destination.

Police said that they were produced before the court seeking police remand.
