In a major breakthrough into the gang-rape of a minor girl in Khashiya Mangal area under Teliamura police station on July 21 in Tripura, police arrested 1o person including the five main accused.
Describing the heinous act, the police said that the minor was first abducted and then gang-raped while she was returning home from Chakmaghat.
“Two of the accused- Kashim Mia and Jahed Mia- were in their car when they saw the victim and offered her a lift,” the police said.
“Since the victim knew the accused, she got into the car but they took her to a forest near Khasiya Mangal and raped her in turns,” the police added.
The police further said that she was raped by another three persons- Ahamed Ali, Gani Mia and a friend of theirs.
The accused later dropped the girl near a bank.
The five accused were identified by the victim.
